2009 Catalan Gastronomy - Part Two

In the first part of this article I have talked about the famous market of Barcelona and two unmissable tapas bars. This time I am going to mention a few restaurants which I really enjoyed visiting in the capitol of Catalonia.

The restaurant opens at 19:30 - we have arrived without a reservation at 19:35 and the place was already full, literally full. You have a line of chairs in the bar area where you can eat as well and behind all the chairs there were another line of people waiting. Luckily they have a small private room as well with a few tables and after about 30 minutes waiting we could have a seat inner. But that half an hour waiting time was not boring at all cause it's just amazing to see how effortlessly they handling the army of gests in that small open kitchen.
This is one of the most popular dining places in Barcelona so expect some delay at your arrival or just simply reserve a table for yourself. Although if I ever get back there again, I definitely won't reserve a table for myself cause this is just how good the atmosphere there, worth to wait and time is just running there.
We had no menu, we just told to our waiter to get us whatever he likes the most. We had about 7-8 different tapas and a Catalan Crème Brûlée in the end, all food has been shared.

You can find this little "bar" front of the SantaMaria del Mar temple which is also highly recommended to visit so after you have had your time inner, you will be just a few steps away from this brilliant place. They have a huge list of wines and also a few tapas alongside as well.

On our way to the temple we were kind of lost in the dark labyrinths of Barcelona and we just accidently found the best ice cream I have ever had, the place called Toscana. Now, I have tried to find the place on Google maps but and I have found another place which is called La Cremería Toscana, that's not the one! The one I am talking about is somewhere near the temple hiding in the shadows of the narrow streets. If you are adventurous or simply a fan of dark and scary corners then you should give a try to find the place, if you succeeded please throw me a mail!

Fancy some Choco? Then this is the place you want to visit.
Not much to say about it really, have a look at the photos.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to, very high quality, fast service, quiet, peaceful atmosphere, affordable prices, large variety of choices and lovely staff. This is the place I have enjoyed the most in Barcelona. I won't convince you to visit the place, but hopefully the photos will.
